A few random bits and pieces that didn’t seem worth writing a whole post about…

I recently experimented with adding cinnamon to my coffee grounds before brewing. It worked quite well, giving hints of cinnamon, without the sugar of a syrup or the sediment of adding cinnamon to the final cup. Nutmeg also works well.

Grilled halloumi sandwich with sweet chilli sauce… yes, it’s a thing… yes it’s as tasty as it sounds.

Cauliflower seems to be the superfood of the month right now. I’ve seen recipes for turning it into everything from pizza to Tater Tots. Unfortunately, almost all of them have been disappointing.
That said, the one substitution that did work very well is cauliflower rice. Blitz your cauliflower in a food processor until it has a rice-like consistency, fry it for a few minutes to cook it and voila! It works really well with curries and such like as a healthier alternative to rice.

Pro tip: If you’re watching something on Amazon Prime Instant, make sure the entire series is free before you start. Legend of Korra has hooked me in with two free seasons, but now I have to pay for the rest. 😦
